A made-to-measure book
Most names are picked for how they sound — Samuel was given as an answer, because it means 'God has heard'
One photo, one name, and a story with only one possible hero. This is what a book looks like when it is written about Samuel — not about 'a boy', and not about anyone else.

Here's how a book for Samuel could look
Pick a theme, upload a photo, and your child becomes the hero of the story — with their name on the cover and inside.

The covers above are samples — the illustrations were created by artificial intelligence and the children in them aren't real. Your book is made from the photo you upload.
A story that calls Samuel by name
The oldest story anyone tells about a Samuel is, fittingly, a bedtime story. A boy lies down for the night, hears his name called — 'Samuel!' — and answers, 'Here I am.' Three thousand years later, that is still the best thing you can do with this name after dark: say it out loud and watch him look up. When the hero on the page is Samuel himself — his name in the title, his face in the illustrations, his little brother or best friend in the supporting roles — the goodnight chapter stops being about some other child and turns into a conversation. He hears his own name in every scene, and like the first Samuel, he stays awake to listen.
It helps that the name was practically built for a title page. Samuel opens on a firm 'Sam' and lands on a soft '-uel', three even syllables that carry across a book cover the way they carry across a playground. Set above one of the covers below, it does not read like a label that was slotted into a blank space; it reads like the book was always going to be his.
Where the name Samuel comes from
Samuel is Hebrew — Shmuel — and it walked into English out of one of the most loved stories in the Bible. Hannah had wished for a son for years; when he finally arrived, she named him Samuel 'because I asked the Lord for him'. Scholars read the name two ways, 'God has heard' or 'asked of God', and both point at the same thing: this was a child somebody longed for, and the name says so out loud. The boy in the story grew up to be the prophet who anointed two kings, which is why Samuel has never been a lightweight name — it belongs to the person the whole story listens to.
English speakers have trusted it for centuries and never let it go out of fashion. Samuel has held a place near the top of the charts across the English-speaking world for over a hundred years without a break — it never spiked like a trend, so it never dated like one. A boy named this decade shares it with the man who wrote the first great English dictionary (Samuel Johnson), the man who taught the world to talk in dots and dashes (Samuel Morse), and the man who signed his covers Mark Twain but was Samuel Clemens everywhere else. Writers, inventors and storytellers — decent company for a boy about to get a book of his own.
One more quiet advantage: Samuel is spelled the same way across most of the languages that use it. An English Samuel, a French, German, Spanish or Czech Samuel all share the identical six letters on paper — the pronunciation shifts a little from border to border, but the spelling holds. Grandparents abroad, a passport, a future school trip: this name travels without ever needing to be corrected, and the title of this book would read just as well anywhere the family lands.
Samuel, Sam, Sammy — what he'll answer to
- Samuel — The full form — what goes on the birth certificate, the school register and, if you choose it, the cover of this book. Three syllables with real weight; on a title page it reads like the name of someone a story would naturally be about.
- Sam — The everyday shape of the name and usually the one he answers to fastest — short enough to call across a park, sturdy enough that grown men carry it happily. It is also the rare nickname that became a national icon, Uncle Sam, without ever losing its small-boy friendliness.
- Sammy — The toddler-years version, favoured by grandparents and anyone who has watched him fall asleep mid-sentence. Most Samuels grow out of it around school age; most parents never quite do.
- Sam-I-Am — The breakfast-table version, on loan from Dr. Seuss. When a plate of eggs is refused on principle, few English-speaking families with a Sam in the house manage to resist the reference.

My daughters love the book! We read it every evening before bedtime. The story is so sweet and lovingly written, and the pictures are beautiful. My girls feel really special because their own name appears in the book. A great keepsake forever! Absolutely recommend. ❤️
We got the book as a birthday present and it turned out perfectly. The print quality pleasantly surprised me – hardcover, nice paper and illustrations printed in fine detail. The characters are drawn so well that my daughter recognized her sister, me, the giraffe and herself :) She really likes the story and now it’s her favourite book, we read it almost every evening. On top of that, it will remain a lovely keepsake that she’ll come back to even in a few years. I definitely recommend it.
The book was a gift… I’ll find out how happy it makes them… but it’s very beautiful
I have the books ready as a gift, so I’m already looking forward to handing them over
An absolutely stunning book made to order. It's not only a beautiful gift, but a keepsake for a lifetime. Our sons are thrilled. Not only did they find “themselves” in the book, but the whole story also takes place in their favourite place, which is the ice rink. The whole book is accompanied by wonderful pictures, and the dedication from us, the parents, is just the cherry on top. I warmly recommend it. Not only will all the “heroes of the book” be thrilled, but so will you, as soon as you see the book with your own eyes :)
Our daughter was absolutely thrilled, she looked through it several times in a row and declared that it's pretty, she hasn't had enough of it yet and we read it every day before bedtime.
The book is very nice. The pictures look very nice, they're not blurry. The book really made us happy.
Very beautiful book, I always have trouble choosing in a bookshop, something bothers me about every one, or I can't find a theme I'd want.. here I can make up anything
A great, sweet and inspiring book that won us over from the very first pages! ❤️ The story of Алекс and Марая inspired us to go to the forest together, to enjoy the autumn beauty, to learn more about the animals and their food, to collect pine cones, hazelnuts, acorns and chestnuts and to create a wonderful autumn decoration at home. 🍂🍁 We love books that we don’t just read, but turn into real family adventures! Thank you for this magical experience! 🥰
The book is just as I imagined it. It's a present for under the Christmas tree, so we'll see how the grandkids like it ♥
The book for my grandson’s christening arrived and I’m thrilled with it. I’m already looking forward to us flipping through it together as soon as he grows up a little. It’s great that you can also add a favourite thing or toy and it gets worked into the story. It’s great!!!
The book is very nice, it was bought as a gift, so Maťko hasn’t seen it yet

Whichever he would rather be. You type the name in yourself when you create the hero, so the cover and the story use exactly the form you choose — the full Samuel with its storybook weight, or the Sam he hears at home every day.
