A made-to-measure book
Chloe, Chloé, Chloë — one name, three spellings, and this cover gets hers exactly right
Few names come with their own little typography debate: an accent in Paris, two dots in the credits of her favourite films, plain and confident everywhere else. However your Chloe writes it, this is the book where the letters on the cover are hers — and so is the girl in the pictures.

Why Chloe was made for a book cover
Some names have to fight for room on a book cover. Chloe doesn't. Five letters, two syllables, and that bright long ee at the end — the sound parents stretch when they call up the stairs, and the sound storybook narrators love to land on, because it rings out when a page is read aloud. Set in large type, Chloe looks balanced and complete; spoken at bedtime, it practically sings. Even the shape of the word is friendly on a cover: the tall Ch at the front, the round o in the middle, the little flick of the e at the end.
The spelling matters just as much, because with this name there is more than one. A French Chloé carries its accent proudly, Chloë keeps the two dots of an older tradition, and plain Chloe is the confident modern standard. Whichever one belongs to your daughter goes into the book letter for letter — on the cover, in the dedication, and every time the story calls her by name. For a girl who has spent her whole short life watching adults hesitate over those two little dots, there is real satisfaction in a book that simply gets it right.
Where the name Chloe comes from
Chloe is Greek, and it is old — genuinely old, not storybook old. The word chloē meant the first green shoot of spring, the exact colour of new grass, and the Greeks used it as a tender title for Demeter, their goddess of the harvest, in the season when the fields turned green again. A name that literally means new growth has a way of suiting a small person who seems taller every time you look.
Chloe also has a longer literary pedigree than almost any girls' name in use today. It appears in the New Testament, in a letter Paul wrote to the church at Corinth — it was "Chloe's people" who brought him the news he was answering. A century later, a Greek writer named Longus made Chloe the heroine of Daphnis and Chloe, one of the earliest novels that survives anywhere; the story proved so durable that Ravel turned it into a ballet nearly two thousand years on. Girls called Chloe have been carrying stories for about as long as stories have been written down.
The modern chapter is just as striking. Chloe was the number-one girls' name in England and Wales for six straight years, from 1997 to 2002, and climbed into the American top ten a decade later. France adores it as Chloé — enough to name a famous fashion house after it — and television made Khloé a household spelling. All of which means a Chloe today grows up meeting namesakes in every classroom and clinic waiting room. A book in which Chloe is not one of three in the class, but the entire reason the story exists, is a rarer gift than it sounds.
What families call a Chloe
- Chlo — The everyday short form, keeping the long o and dropping the ee. It's what friends call across a playground, what teammates shout mid-game, and what she'll sign on notes to her best friend.
- Coco — A favourite with toddler siblings, who usually master the doubled co-co long before the tricky kl- opening of the full name. Some Chloes shake it off by school age; the lucky ones keep it for life.
- Clo-Clo — Nursery-age doubling that tends to retire itself around the first day of school — and is then lovingly revived by grandparents at every family gathering for years afterwards.
- Cee — The teenage abbreviation, built for text messages, locker doodles and the inside of friendship bracelets.

My daughters love the book! We read it every evening before bedtime. The story is so sweet and lovingly written, and the pictures are beautiful. My girls feel really special because their own name appears in the book. A great keepsake forever! Absolutely recommend. ❤️
We got the book as a birthday present and it turned out perfectly. The print quality pleasantly surprised me – hardcover, nice paper and illustrations printed in fine detail. The characters are drawn so well that my daughter recognized her sister, me, the giraffe and herself :) She really likes the story and now it’s her favourite book, we read it almost every evening. On top of that, it will remain a lovely keepsake that she’ll come back to even in a few years. I definitely recommend it.
The book was a gift… I’ll find out how happy it makes them… but it’s very beautiful
I have the books ready as a gift, so I’m already looking forward to handing them over
An absolutely stunning book made to order. It's not only a beautiful gift, but a keepsake for a lifetime. Our sons are thrilled. Not only did they find “themselves” in the book, but the whole story also takes place in their favourite place, which is the ice rink. The whole book is accompanied by wonderful pictures, and the dedication from us, the parents, is just the cherry on top. I warmly recommend it. Not only will all the “heroes of the book” be thrilled, but so will you, as soon as you see the book with your own eyes :)
Our daughter was absolutely thrilled, she looked through it several times in a row and declared that it's pretty, she hasn't had enough of it yet and we read it every day before bedtime.
The book is very nice. The pictures look very nice, they're not blurry. The book really made us happy.
Very beautiful book, I always have trouble choosing in a bookshop, something bothers me about every one, or I can't find a theme I'd want.. here I can make up anything
A great, sweet and inspiring book that won us over from the very first pages! ❤️ The story of Алекс and Марая inspired us to go to the forest together, to enjoy the autumn beauty, to learn more about the animals and their food, to collect pine cones, hazelnuts, acorns and chestnuts and to create a wonderful autumn decoration at home. 🍂🍁 We love books that we don’t just read, but turn into real family adventures! Thank you for this magical experience! 🥰
The book is just as I imagined it. It's a present for under the Christmas tree, so we'll see how the grandkids like it ♥
The book for my grandson’s christening arrived and I’m thrilled with it. I’m already looking forward to us flipping through it together as soon as he grows up a little. It’s great that you can also add a favourite thing or toy and it gets worked into the story. It’s great!!!
The book is very nice, it was bought as a gift, so Maťko hasn’t seen it yet

Popular questions
Yes. The name is printed exactly as you type it — accent, diaeresis and all — on the cover, in the dedication and throughout the story. Nothing gets "corrected" to a standard spelling, which matters more for this name than for most.
