A made-to-measure book
William goes on the cover in full — by the goodnight kiss he's just Will
One boy, two names, one book: the full William printed across the title page, the everyday Will living out the adventure inside. Written around your son, with his real likeness built from a single photo.

Here's how a book for William could look
Pick a theme, upload a photo, and your child becomes the hero of the story — with their name on the cover and inside.
The covers above are samples — the illustrations were created by artificial intelligence and the children in them aren't real. Your book is made from the photo you upload.
Why William belongs on a book cover
Some names shrink to fit the nursery. William does the opposite — it is the Sunday-best version, the one that waits patiently through the Will years for roll call, wedding invitations and, why not, the cover of a book. That is exactly what makes it so satisfying to print: a boy who is Will at breakfast gets to see the full-length version of himself typeset like an author's name, treated as something worth a title page.
Three syllables are a gift to a book title, too. "William and the Last-Minute Goal" scans like a drumroll — the name takes the downbeat and the adventure follows it. Shorter names have to share their line with the plot; William holds the front of it on its own.
And the boy under the title is not a stand-in who happens to share the spelling. The illustrations are built from one photo of your son, so the William gripping the football or hugging the knitted rabbit has his grin, his hair, his way of standing. The whole book is arranged around him the way the name itself has always been arranged: front and center.
A determined protector: where William comes from
William is what happened when the Normans crossed the Channel. The name began as the old Germanic Willahelm — wil, meaning will or desire, joined to helm, a helmet — so it adds up to something like "determined protector": a boy who wants things and shields people. It landed in England in 1066 with William the Conqueror, and the country took to it with astonishing speed. Within a couple of generations it was the most common boys' name in the land, so widespread that English is still covered in its fingerprints — every Williams, Wilson, Wilkinson and Willis in the phone book descends from some medieval Will.
The name never really left the front row after that. England has crowned four King Williams, and the current heir to the British throne carries the name today. The most quoted writer in the English language signed his plays William Shakespeare — and was fond enough of his own first name to pun on it in the Sonnets: "thou hast thy Will." It is even one of the rare classic names with a flower to its credit: sweet william, the cottage-garden bloom, has carried it since the sixteenth century.
A thousand years after it arrived, William still sits in the top handful of boys' names across the English-speaking world. Some names ride trends; this one simply outlasts them — which is why it looks so much at home in a printed title.
The name travels well, too. French made it Guillaume, German kept Wilhelm, Spanish says Guillermo and Italian sings Guglielmo — a whole map of cousins that all began as the same two Germanic syllables, while English held on to the W and the double l. Wherever your family has roots, there is probably a version of this name somewhere in the tree, which makes the English William feel less like a fashion and more like an inheritance.
Will, Bill, Billy — the many sizes of William
- William — The full dress uniform. It comes out on the first day of school, on official forms, and in that slow, three-syllable way parents say it when crayon art has appeared on the wall. It is also the natural choice for a book cover — formal enough to look printed, warm enough to still be his.
- Will — The everyday size: quick enough for the playground, grown-up enough that he will never outgrow it. If the full name feels too formal for a bedtime story, this is the form to print in the book — the story is then written around Will from the first line.
- Bill — The historic rhyming nickname. Medieval England had a fashion for rhyming pet forms, and Will became Bill the same way Robert became Bob. Rarer for small boys today, which makes it feel like a grandfather's privilege.
- Billy — The small-boy version with extra bounce — the one shouted across backyards and birthday parties. Many Williams are Billy until roughly the day they decide they aren't.
- Wills — The affectionate family form with an s on the end, used at home more than anywhere else — the shape the name takes when it's being called upstairs for dinner.

Over 1,200 books starring their very own hero
My daughters love the book! We read it every evening before bedtime. The story is so sweet and lovingly written, and the pictures are beautiful. My girls feel really special because their own name appears in the book. A great keepsake forever! Absolutely recommend. ❤️
We got the book as a birthday present and it turned out perfectly. The print quality pleasantly surprised me – hardcover, nice paper and illustrations printed in fine detail. The characters are drawn so well that my daughter recognized her sister, me, the giraffe and herself :) She really likes the story and now it’s her favourite book, we read it almost every evening. On top of that, it will remain a lovely keepsake that she’ll come back to even in a few years. I definitely recommend it.
The book was a gift… I’ll find out how happy it makes them… but it’s very beautiful
I have the books ready as a gift, so I’m already looking forward to handing them over
An absolutely stunning book made to order. It's not only a beautiful gift, but a keepsake for a lifetime. Our sons are thrilled. Not only did they find “themselves” in the book, but the whole story also takes place in their favourite place, which is the ice rink. The whole book is accompanied by wonderful pictures, and the dedication from us, the parents, is just the cherry on top. I warmly recommend it. Not only will all the “heroes of the book” be thrilled, but so will you, as soon as you see the book with your own eyes :)
Our daughter was absolutely thrilled, she looked through it several times in a row and declared that it's pretty, she hasn't had enough of it yet and we read it every day before bedtime.
The book is very nice. The pictures look very nice, they're not blurry. The book really made us happy.
Very beautiful book, I always have trouble choosing in a bookshop, something bothers me about every one, or I can't find a theme I'd want.. here I can make up anything
A great, sweet and inspiring book that won us over from the very first pages! ❤️ The story of Алекс and Марая inspired us to go to the forest together, to enjoy the autumn beauty, to learn more about the animals and their food, to collect pine cones, hazelnuts, acorns and chestnuts and to create a wonderful autumn decoration at home. 🍂🍁 We love books that we don’t just read, but turn into real family adventures! Thank you for this magical experience! 🥰
The book is just as I imagined it. It's a present for under the Christmas tree, so we'll see how the grandkids like it ♥
The book for my grandson’s christening arrived and I’m thrilled with it. I’m already looking forward to us flipping through it together as soon as he grows up a little. It’s great that you can also add a favourite thing or toy and it gets worked into the story. It’s great!!!
The book is very nice, it was bought as a gift, so Maťko hasn’t seen it yet

Popular questions
Whichever you type is what gets printed. Enter William and the full name carries the title page; enter Will and the whole story is written around the shorter form instead. The name is not pasted into blanks afterwards — the story is generated with it from the first sentence, so the sentences bend around the name naturally, the way a read-aloud voice does.
