A made-to-measure book
Oliver fits a grandfather of eighty and a boy of five — this book is for the one with grass stains on his knees
Some names get outgrown; Oliver never does. It was waiting for him before he could walk and it will still fit when he is grey. Right now, though, there is a version of Oliver that won't stay long — the one who narrates his own adventures out loud while he has them. This book catches that Oliver on paper: his name on the cover, his face in the illustrations, his story between them.

The covers above are samples — the illustrations were created by artificial intelligence and the children in them aren't real. Your book is made from the photo you upload.
Why the cover has been waiting for Oliver
Say it aloud once: Oliver. It opens with a big round O, rolls through three easy syllables and lands softly on that -er. That is why it reads so well at bedtime — a hundred pages in, the name still hasn't tripped a single sleepy parent — and why it sets so well in a title. "Oliver and the Last-Minute Goal" doesn't sound like a personalized product; it sounds like a book that has always existed, third shelf from the top, slightly worn at the spine.
Even his initial cooperates. A big round O is the friendliest letter on a bookshelf — one of the first letters children learn to recognize and the easiest to spot on a spine from across the room. Long before Oliver can read the whole title, he can find the book that starts with his letter.
In this book the resemblance goes further than the sound. Oliver isn't a boy in the story who happens to share his name — he is the story. His name stands on the cover, runs through every chapter, and the hero in the illustrations is drawn with his own likeness. When you read it to him, there is a moment every parent of an Oliver gets to enjoy: the pause after the first page, when he works out that the Oliver in the book is not a coincidence — and then insists on checking the cover again, just to be sure.
A thousand years of hero training
Oliver came into English from the Old French Olivier, and for most of its history it has carried the olive tree inside it — the ancient symbol of peace. Some scholars trace it further back still, to the Norse Áleifr, "heir of the ancestor", which would make Oliver a name about carrying the family story forward. Either way, its first famous bearer set the tone: in the medieval Song of Roland, Olivier is one of Charlemagne's twelve paladins — the calm, clever knight whose job is to keep his hot-headed best friend Roland out of trouble. Brave and sensible at the same time: not a bad patron for a boy's first adventure.
Then Charles Dickens lent the name to a small orphan who dared to ask for more, and Oliver Twist made it one of the most recognized names in English literature. The story leapt from page to stage, too: the musical Oliver! filled theatres from the West End to Broadway, and its 1968 film version won the Academy Award for Best Picture — few first names have ever carried a whole show, exclamation mark included.
The real surge, though, came in our own century: Oliver spent roughly a decade as the No. 1 boys' name in England and Wales, topped the charts in Australia and New Zealand, and climbed into the top three in the United States. Parents keep choosing it for the same reason it works so well in a story — it manages to be classic and current in the same breath, a name that belongs equally to a knight, a Victorian orphan and the boy currently jumping off your sofa.
What an Oliver gets called at home
- Ollie — The everyday classic — what his family shouts up the stairs and what his friends will write in birthday cards. If anyone asks, this Oliver is an Ollie.
- Olly — The same sound with a British spelling, made familiar by a certain singer from Essex; the version you will spot on football shirts and pencil cases across the UK.
- Ol — One syllable for when there is no time for three: dinner is ready, the bath is overflowing, the dog has got his shoe.
- Noll — The antique one. Oliver Cromwell was "Old Noll" to his contemporaries — today it is a rarity, so it is there for the taking if you want a nickname no other Oliver in the playground has.

My daughters love the book! We read it every evening before bedtime. The story is so sweet and lovingly written, and the pictures are beautiful. My girls feel really special because their own name appears in the book. A great keepsake forever! Absolutely recommend. ❤️
We got the book as a birthday present and it turned out perfectly. The print quality pleasantly surprised me – hardcover, nice paper and illustrations printed in fine detail. The characters are drawn so well that my daughter recognized her sister, me, the giraffe and herself :) She really likes the story and now it’s her favourite book, we read it almost every evening. On top of that, it will remain a lovely keepsake that she’ll come back to even in a few years. I definitely recommend it.
The book was a gift… I’ll find out how happy it makes them… but it’s very beautiful
I have the books ready as a gift, so I’m already looking forward to handing them over
An absolutely stunning book made to order. It's not only a beautiful gift, but a keepsake for a lifetime. Our sons are thrilled. Not only did they find “themselves” in the book, but the whole story also takes place in their favourite place, which is the ice rink. The whole book is accompanied by wonderful pictures, and the dedication from us, the parents, is just the cherry on top. I warmly recommend it. Not only will all the “heroes of the book” be thrilled, but so will you, as soon as you see the book with your own eyes :)
Our daughter was absolutely thrilled, she looked through it several times in a row and declared that it's pretty, she hasn't had enough of it yet and we read it every day before bedtime.
The book is very nice. The pictures look very nice, they're not blurry. The book really made us happy.
Very beautiful book, I always have trouble choosing in a bookshop, something bothers me about every one, or I can't find a theme I'd want.. here I can make up anything
A great, sweet and inspiring book that won us over from the very first pages! ❤️ The story of Алекс and Марая inspired us to go to the forest together, to enjoy the autumn beauty, to learn more about the animals and their food, to collect pine cones, hazelnuts, acorns and chestnuts and to create a wonderful autumn decoration at home. 🍂🍁 We love books that we don’t just read, but turn into real family adventures! Thank you for this magical experience! 🥰
The book is just as I imagined it. It's a present for under the Christmas tree, so we'll see how the grandkids like it ♥
The book for my grandson’s christening arrived and I’m thrilled with it. I’m already looking forward to us flipping through it together as soon as he grows up a little. It’s great that you can also add a favourite thing or toy and it gets worked into the story. It’s great!!!
The book is very nice, it was bought as a gift, so Maťko hasn’t seen it yet

Whichever he actually goes by. You enter the name yourself when you create his character, so the story can star Oliver on his more formal adventures or Ollie on the everyday ones — and the title on the cover will match the form you choose. Plenty of families do both: Oliver on the cover for the shelf, Ollie in the dedication at the front.
