Can I change how the cover looks after the book is created?

Accepted Answer

The cover illustration can’t be changed once your book has been created. If you’d like something changed on the cover, just get in touch — we’ll look at it case by case.

Question 2

Can I edit the book's text?

Yes, anytime. Sign in, open the book in the editor, rewrite any text you like, and the PDF regenerates on its own (usually 1–2 minutes). You can pick a different font, too.

Question 3

I don't like one of the illustrations. What can I do?

Accepted Answer

You can have any illustration generated again — 3 regenerations are included, and the editor shows how many you have left. The new version is created as a variant: you choose which one stays, and you can go back to the original anytime. Regenerations work when you're signed in.

Question 4

What if I use up my free regenerations?

You can buy more right in the editor for $0.39 each (1–20 at a time).

Something looks off in an illustration (an extra hand, a missing character…)

We automatically check every illustration during generation and regenerate anything suspicious right away. If something slips through anyway, use a regeneration — and if that doesn't fix it, drop us a line and we'll sort it out.

Question 6

Can I change the illustration style after the book is created?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In the book editor, open the Illustration style tab and pick a different style. It costs $4.49 and we'll redraw all the pictures for you — the story, text, names and dedication stay the same. The scenes will look a little different than they do now, because they're drawn completely from scratch. We can't show you a preview of the new style with your child before you pay, but you'll see a sample picture for each style.

Your original style stays with you. All the styles you've had drawn are kept with the book and you can switch between them for free — the PDF and the online viewer update automatically after you switch. With the new style you get another 3 free picture regenerations. Pictures you fixed in the previous style don't carry over to the new one.

Drawing usually takes 15 minutes, and we'll email you when it's done. If your printed book is already at the printer, it will arrive in the original style and you'll have the new one as a PDF and on the web. If printing is still waiting, we'll wait until the new style is finished and print the book in it.

Question 7

Can I edit the dedication and the “The hero of this book is…” page?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you can edit both the dedication and the dedication spread with your hero's name in the editor anytime. And if the book doesn't have a dedication yet, simply write one in and it'll appear on the dedication spread once you save.
